Log 6: Kickball - 10/8/18

On Friday during our game of Kickball, the two factors that influenced my participation was a sense of achievement and being able to go on own pace.

The factor that influenced my participation was a sense of achievement because I really enjoyed playing kickball it made me feel good knowing that participating throughout the whole lesson made me feel like I achieved something during our lesson.

Being able to go on own pace influenced my participation because I was able to go on my pace and not having to sprint to the safe zone made me feel energized which made me not want to give up.

Log 5: Modified Touch 2 - 7/8/18

Yesterday during our game of Modified touch 2 the two factors that influenced my participation were Challenge and Fun/Enjoyment.

The factor that influenced my participation was a challenge because trying to not drop the ball was difficult. This made me challenge myself to keep trying to not drop the ball and keep playing to get our team a try.

Fun/Enjoyment influenced my participation because I had fun playing along with my teammates. I enjoyed this because i got to bond with people i don't usually play with this made our game more fun and enjoyable.

Log 4: King Dodge-ball - 3/8/18

On Friday during our game of King Dodgeball, I really liked playing this game the two
factors that influenced my participation was pushed to physical and/or mental limits and success.

Pushed the body to physical and or/mental limits influenced my participation because I know if  I don't push myself or stay in my comfort zone I won't be able to achieve something during our game. During the lesson, I pushed my myself beyond my limits and stepped outside my comfort zone and it made feel good being the last man standing during this lesson.
Success influenced my participation because I managed to stay in the game longer and not give up. I felt good about this because I had succeeded in this lesson that I usually don't try to participate in.

Log 3: Modified Touch -31/08/18

Yesterday during our game modified touch the two factors that I influenced my participation were
Challenge and Social factors.

Challenge influence my participation because when I was marking my opponent it was
hard keeping up with her. This forced me to challenge myself not to give up and to keep playing
to benefit the team.

Social Factors influenced my participation because I was able to communicate with my team
and working as a team using communication helped us worked as a team to score points.

Log 2: Island Ball - 24/07/18

On Tuesday during our game Island ball, the two factors that I influenced my participation were Well - being and sense of achievement.

Well-being influence my participation because I know if I participated and not sit out I know it would boost up my physical well-being up and make me a little bit fitter.

A sense of Achievement influences my participation because I knew that I would get a lot of achievement out of Island ball. Participating and helping out my team and not giving up made me feel like I had a good session and also like I achieved something.

Log 1: Ki-O-Rahi - 3/07/18

The last term during our game Ki-O-Rahi I did not participate in this game,
so I influenced none of the two factors. But I also did let down my team by
not participating and giving it a try.

Physiology Section

When I play Basketball some short-term responses to exercise are increasing breathing rate and increase heart rate.  Breathing speeds up to get more oxygen and to get rid of more carbon dioxide in my muscles. The pulse rate (heart) is beating faster to produce blood so it can pump through my muscles to produce more oxygen for my muscle to be able to move.

The first short-term response to exercise is how your heart rate increases while playing basketball. This happens in Basketball because when your running to try to get the ball your heart rate pumps faster to move more oxygen into your muscle.

The second short-term response to exercise is how your breathing increases while playing basketball. This happens in Basketball because while you're running your breathing rate speeds up to get more oxygen to your muscles and to get rid of carbon dioxide so you can keep moving.

If I was to play Basketball for a season, some long-term adaptions are that your hearts is going to get better at doing its job because it is getting bigger and stronger and your muscles get bigger and stronger because of the protein your providing.

The first long-term adaption when playing Basketball is that your muscles get bigger and stronger. This happens because when training your muscles tear and you will need to provide protein to your muscles to help repair your muscles to become bigger and stronger.

The second long-term adaption when playing Basketball is that your heart rate will decrease over time because it's becoming stronger because it is a muscle, therefore, it doesn't have to work as hard and is more efficient. Because the heart is stronger it is able to pump more blood and you'll be able to run longer periods.

Follow-Through Phase

In the follow-through phase, I still need to contract certain segments. To make sure my shot is effective I need to contract my smaller muscles in my arm. I can see that I am still following the principle of sequencing because I am using my smaller arm muscles last.

While moving from the execution phase to follow through phase both of my shoulder and elbow joints are working. The shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint. The movement in this phase is  the shoulder extension my antagonist muscle is my pectoralis major and the agonist is lasstissmus dorsi. Also, I can see that my elbow is extending which means that my antagonist muscle is my biceps and my agonist muscle is my triceps.

In the follow-through phase, I am using Newton's third law. Newton's third law states that the third law of motion is that for every force, there is an equal reaction force in the opposite direction. First of all the force, I produced in my preparation is equaled to the force that is generated in my follow-through phase. I can see that I am using Newton's third law because I can see that the force I have produced in my preparation phase is being applied to my follow-through phase because my arms are fully extended and my shoulder are extending.

In the follow-through phase, balance and stability are still important in producing a well-executed shot. To be balanced in this phase I need to make sure that when I make my shot that I am stabled and that both of my legs are constantly stabled and my feet are planted on the ground. Also, I know I am balanced because my center of gravity is located inside my body. The differences/similarities I can see in my balance and stability is that we both are tipping toeing and that our hands are above our head and that we are both standing our base of support.

Execution Phase

In the execution phase, I still need to contract as many segments as possible to generate maximum force. As well as using my lower body segments, I also need to contract my upper body muscles in my Basketball Shot. In order to generate maximum force, I need to follow a sequence of producing my largest muscles first from the preparation phase and passing it on to my smallest muscles to generate more force. Also, I need to make sure the timing is correct in my sequence. This means that I need to make sure that I'm using the correct timing of my body's segments to produce maximum force. If the timing of my body segments is out of order, the free throw will lack coordinated and the force generated will be less, so I need to make sure that I use my larger muscles first and my smaller muscles first.

While moving from the preparation phase to the execution phase these joint movements are changing. As you can see from preparation phase I was flexing now in the execution phase my knee is in an extension stance. The knee joint is a hinge joint, the agonist muscle contracting to make this move is the quadriceps and the antagonist muscle relaxing in this movement is the hamstrings. The hip joint is a ball and socket joint, the agonist muscle contacting to make this move is the gluteus maximum and the antagonist muscle relaxing in this movement is the quadriceps. The elbow is also a hinge joint, the agonist muscle contracting to make this move is the triceps and the antagonist muscle relaxing in this movement is the biceps. The differences/similarities I can see in my joints and the ideal are that we are both in a similar position where our joints are extending.

In the execution phase, I am using Newton's 2nd law. Newton's law states that "acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass (F=MA)" in my preparation phase I was contracting my lower body muscles and passing it to my upper body muscles in the execution phase to produce force. I can see from my preparation phase that I'm slightly bending my knees, I am still contracting force but not as much if I was to bend my knees more, by bending my knees I am able to contract force in my muscles and the quicker my muscles contracts equals more force in my basketball shot.

In the execution phase, balance and stability are important to produce a well-coordinated shot. Center of gravity can be defined as "the single point at which all parts of an object are equally balanced".  I can see that when I'm going for my shot my centre of gravity is in my body, therefore, I am balanced. Also, I know I am balanced because my line of gravity is going through my centre of gravity and through my legs. The differences/similarities I can see in my joints and the idea being that we both are in the same stance and that we are both slightly bending our knees to hold our base of support.

Preparation Phase

To generate maximum force I need to contract as many segments as possible. I know I am contracting segments in my preparation phase because my lower body muscles are working. The more segments I'm using the more force I contract by using my larger muscles first will give me force and passing it to my smaller muscles will give me more force. Also, I know I am following the principle of sequencing because I am flexing my lower muscles.

In the preparation phase, I am contracting my lower body muscles. This means that I am using my hips, knees, and ankle joints at this phase. The knee joint is a hinge joint and it's also flexing, caused by hamstrings and quadriceps, the hamstrings being the agonist's muscle and the quadriceps being the antagonist's muscle. The hip joint is a ball and socket joint, my hip is flexing because I am in a stance and all my joints a flexing, which is caused by the quadriceps being the agonist and the Gluteus maximum being the antagonist. The ankle is a hinge joint/Plane joint, you start with dorsiflexion, which is caused by the tibial Anterior being the agonist and the gastrocnemius being the antagonist.  The differences/similarities I can see in my joints and ideal are kinda the same as the professional one because we are both flexing our knee joints and we are standing in the same stance.

In this preparation phase, I am using Newton's laws. The Newton's law that I am using in this phase is his 1st law. Newton's first law states that "an object at rest remains rest until a force is applied to create inertia" to overcome inertia I will need to produce force by using my lower muscles to overcome inertia.

In the preparation phase, balance and stability are important when performing a sporting movement. The line of gravity is the direction of a force of gravity going through the body downwards when the line of gravity is within the base of support you are stable, the base of support refers to the area beneath an object or person which includes every point of contact that the object or person makes with the supporting of the surface I can see that I am balanced because my two feet is on the floor which means I am stabled. My line of gravity is located where my belly button is, therefore I am stable which allows my body to produce enough force in the preparation phase. The differences/similarities I can see in my balance and stability compared to the ideal are kinda the same as the professional one because we are using the same base of support to keep our body stabled.

Log 6: 13/04/18 - Jedi Dodge ball

On Thursday we played Jedi Dodgeball, the interpersonal skill I demonstrated was
Negotiation.
I demonstrated this by discussing and agreeing to my team who
would become the Jedi and working out strategies that would help our team not to get out easily, and to make sure to protectthe Jedi so he/she don't get out.
We made sure that when the Jedi went to save people we were
there to take the hit.
By using negotiation it had a positive impact on our team because we were all able to discuss and agree on different strategies.

Log 5: 27/03/18 - Multi Sports

On Tuesday me and my team lead our class in Multi sports. While i was running the game i was
also demonstrating the interpersonal skill Giving Feedback.
I demonstrated Giving Feedback to the players telling them what they can improve on and
what they need to work on like Cooperating and
Supporting and Encouraging others to play instead of the same people playing throughout
the whole lesson.
An example of what i said was “ During the games , you all need to learn to share the ball
and listen to the instructions carefully”.
By giving feedback to the group, it had a positive impact on them because they knew what
went well during the game
and what they needed to work on next time.

Log 4: 23/03/18 - Dr. DodgeBall

Last Friday we played Dr. dodgeball lead by Cj and neiko, the interpersonal skill i demonstrated was
Supporting and Encouraging others.
I did this because i didn't really try to get myself involved that much but i was
Supporting and Encouraging in my team to get to the other side and because it was a individual
game because we had to try get ourselves to the other
side by our self. I used supportive words to help encourage them.
By using supporting and encouraging words it had a positive impact on our team,
because while we were supporting and encouraging each other it made everyone more eager to play.

Log 3: 9/03/17 - Basketball

Last Friday during the game Basketball i demonstrated the interpersonal skill
Effective Communication.
I demonstrated Effective Communication by communicating to my team letting them know
I am open and that i can help get us points. We distracted the other team by fake calling
"here here” so that the opponent can think that they are passing the ball towards
the person fake calling however, someone else in our team received the ball which
helped us score points.
By using effective communication it has a positive impact on my team because
when we were communicating it helped us work faster and better which,
improved our overall team performance.

Log 2: 8/03/17 - Obstacle Course

Last Thursday during the activity obstacle course I demonstrated the interpersonal skill
Effective communication.
During this activity when my partner was blindfolded i had to lead her through the obstacle
course without touching her but only by using communication
to her to let her know where to go and what to do.
I had to say “turn right” “turn left” “go straight” “stop” and “go under” “Step up” during the activity
obstacle course. By using this communication my partner was able to know where she is going just
by listening and was able to complete the obstacle course.
This had a positive impact on my partner because the way i communicated to her was clear and effective
and we got through the obstacle course with no hesitation.

Log 1: 1/03/17 - Fast ball

Last Friday during the game Fast Ball i demonstrated the Interpersonal skill Cooperation.
I demonstrated Cooperation by working with my team to figure out how we can
score a try and work together to
try distract the other team so we can get a try.
We distracted them by running in a group and this meant that at
once one of us made it to the safety base. The outcome of my Cooperation made it a lot easier for my team to make it to the safety base, which made it easier for us to work together to try score a try.
